Digiprog 3 or digimaster 3, tell from real experience

Post collect some typical customer feedback on digiprog 3 and Yanhua digimaster III by obdii365, especially their difference in mileage correction function.

Part 1: Customer Feedbacks go as follows:

1. Digimaster 3 feedback:
1) I started with digimaster 3 about three years back, could not do many cars it claims to do. so customers go to someone else and never come back. it does however have other functions like key programming of some cars and immo/airbag clear.
2) I Think Digimaster Is Better At Chip Programming it can even make some mb keys (sometimes damage eis flash).

2. Digiprog3 feedback: Digiprog is good tool for mileage programming. I use it almost every day and it causes me absolutely nothing wrong.

2. digimaster3 vs Digiprog 3:
1) I think digimaster is not worth the money (only if you do BMW). can;t do many more cars then digiprog, and often need to desolder.
digiprog can do a lot of cars. even mercedes 2010 by obd.
Best is to buy Yanhua digiprog if you can find them (its better quality).
The cheap digiprog from alipress often stop working. sometimes right out of the box, sometimes after 2 years.
If you’re thinking about spending 1500 euro then I’d suggest x-tool!
xtool can do more cars with obd (also renault kia hyundai volvo) and it can change mileage in ecu for fiat alfa lancia opel vw. also airbag crash reset and immo off and radio code read.
but xtool cant do w204 w212 w221 w207..
If want to start and not spend very much money you should buy digiprog, if you want more you can buy xtool later.

2) I have both digimaster latest one yanhua as well as digiprog latest one yanhua. 50% of the cars that digiprog do the digimaster does not especially VW, Audi, Benz.

30% of the cars that digiprog can’t do the digimaster does. These cars are French, Italian, Japan, and China cars.

I believe that digimaster is only good for BMW cars that is all.

Not worth to buy at all. Dont waste your money. Digiprog is good for cars 2003-2009 mostly by obd. For VW is the best tool. BENZ is ok does 2007-2009 w212, w204, W221. Audi can handle pretty good mostly a4,a6,a6 2004-2008. Risky a bit on a3.

-Digimaster is hit or miss on everything. I’ve been using the Digimaster 3 for several years now.
I got the DSPIII and use that for almost everything now.

– Benz 2004 C180 W203 Dash Ezs – OBD no good.

Digiprog 3 change Volvo V50 Tachometer

Problem before entering:

I am trying to change mileage on Volvo V50 2004 dash with digiprog3 odometer master clone v4.94.

I have downloaded a German version user manual and soldered 3 wires as shown in German manual (checked pin numbers). Adapter 51 has 4 wires. Pin 25 (white on original, or orange on clone) left unsoldered. I’m getting “ERROR INIT” message on screen. Processor is MC9S12DG128B. I selected HCS12 in digiprog 3.

What I’m doing wrong? Then I contacted my dealer. The obdii365.com technician helped solve the trouble. It should work for whom has DP3 on this dash.

I checked the Volvo V50 HCS12 user manual with digiprog iii again, and noticed that at least 4 wires, vss, vdd, tx and rx should be soldered.

I posted the attachment they provided.

VOLVO V50 TACHO

1. Remove and disassemble tachometer.
2. Connect as shown in the photo above the plug 51 with the marked soldering points. 3. PICTURES on the following page
3. Select the program: cars / trucks -> VOLVO -> V50 HCS12.
4. The DIGIPROG displays the old / wrong Mileage.
5. Program and completed the new / correct Mileage.

NOTE: Pin-signal= end of white wire in first picture

The job needs good soldering/ desoldering skill. Lucky, the problem was settled.

Digiprog3 cannot connect to PC Laptop fixed by FT232BL chip

I just got the odometer correction tool Digiprog 3 V4.94 from China, but it is a pity that the Digiprog3 cannot be connected by USB cable. When I am trying to update, but the usb didn’t work, nothing detect… Then I went to ask a friend working in a repairing garage and he disassembled their Digiprog 3 for me.

After comparison with mine, I found that there is no FT232BL in my V4.94 board but the rest of the components seems to be in place…

Then I ordered FTDI ft232bl chip on ebay, and soldered the FTDI chip. Now, it works perfect. No problem with the drivers all installed by themselves.

Note: Anyone in need of odometer correction device, go to obdii365 to buy Digiprog III (my friend bought it there with USB chip). Do not blind to the low price for China clones…

Digiprog3 V4.94 Renault Laguna HC12 ST51 Pinout

Got Digiprog3 v4.94 clone package last week, with 4-day delivery from China; and have succeeded in mileage correction with this device for my Renault Laguna 2002. Put my experience here for sharing.

My digiprog iii for Renault Laguna

With Digiprog 3 Odometer master, I have changed Renault km with the cable ST51, my cable comes with the following pinout:

Black -> pin 13
Brown -> pin 18
Orange -> pin 25
Red -> pin 17

Those connections (and colors) are wrong, so I desoldered them, and solder on the correct pins:

Black -> pin 13
Brown -> pin 14
Orange -> pin 21
Red -> pin 22

From the manuals that came with the clone DIGIPROG III, i found that they use different colors (Green, Yellow, Brown and White), so i considered the following:

Black -> Brown
Brown -> White
Orange -> Yellow
Red -> Green

That is, in my case (Renault Laguna 2002 HC12), I just follow the next image and connect the ST51 cable correctly with the clone Digiprog 3 odometer correction tool:

Q: Does Digiprog III change mileage for BMW after 2008year? Does Digiprog3 make key for BMW?

A: Better use Digimaster 3 to program mileage for the high-end BMW. Digiprog3 can’t make key for BMW, advice you use AK300 key pro.

A: Yes, No.1 cable is ST01 cable, and the software needs to open off-line programming or online-programming.

Q: what is Digiprog III power-on password?

A: Digiprog 3 Power-on password is 1. After enter password “1”,

click tick” √“not ” X”, otherwise Digiprog3 will freeze.

Q: What is ST01, ST04 cable used for in the package of Digiprog 3 (SM33-C)?

A: It needs to remove chip when you program mileage for some car models. One end of the ST01 cable and ST04 cable clip the chip, and the other end connect to digiprog3.

Q: What is the difference between tacho pro 2008 and digiprog 3?

A: Tacho pro 2008 and digiprog 3 share the same function. But tacho pro works with the car before 2006 year, digiprog 3 works with the car even up to 2012 year.

Q: Can I use Digiprog3 (item No.SM33) ST01 cable and ST04 cable to work with Yanhua brand Digiprog 3(item No.SM33-B)?

A: Yes, you can, but Yanhua brand Digiprog 3(item No.SM33-B) is better use this following adapter in the package, it works better and more stable.

 

Digiprog 3 v4.94 Black or Blue screen final solution

The blue screen solution can be used on Digiprog 3 odometer correction tool (Item No:V4.88 SM33-C & V4.94 SM47-E/SM47-1). Please contact obdii365 customer service to get repair chip for free. Then follow either of 2 solutions below.

Method 1: Digiprog3–101W(X1) Solder Operation Way

1. Cut off the connect cable on the 5pin pad (note: cut via reverse) Then use multimeter to test 5pin and R10 which is far away from the point of X1 end–If open circuit is not ok, then means cut off the connector successfully.
2. Solder X1 to the pad (note: reverse welding)
3. Connect the point which is the end of R10 which is far away from 101W(X1) and the cable and X1-2 pin.

1. Take off the fly cable between C30 and X1
2. Take off the IC on the X1 Replace the IC
3. Connect the new IC Connect the fly cable as the original situation

Method 2: Repair Digiprog3 update failure – a blue screen.

Sure, many people wonder how to fix DP 3 (blue screen) after a failed upgrade, or whether it is at all possible. The answer is yes, it is possible. I’ll tell you how to fix it yourself, the problem of blue screen.

If you see this screen (as pictured below) after the software update Digiprog 3 do not panic, in most cases, you can fix it.

1.The reasons of appearance, blue screen.

3. a) The first and most common cause of blue screen is the inappropriate update Digiprog 3.

We must remember that updates are created for the serial number. The serial number of the update files must = Digiprog 3 serial number. Otherwise, upload the files to another serial number gives us the effect shown in the picture above.

3. b) Another cause of the blue screen may be interrupted during the upgrade of communication between your computer and your device digiprog3.
4. c) Other causes unrelated to update the device

2. How to fix the device after a failed update.

To repair the unit we will need:

1. a) Update files with the corresponding serial number = serial number of the device.
2. b) Programmer serial memory for example, willem.

Ok, so we begin. We will have 3 digiprog undress and get into the PCB, exactly 2 serial memory.

You will see a such a view:

Us interested, memory, marked in the picture above. Are respectively a memory U1A and U2A. These are the memories that are 22, feet on one side, which is 44, feet the entire memory. We remove the memory U1A from the plate and put in the programmer.

Load a file content digi1.bin, to memory U1A.

Then again put memory on the board.

Do the same with memory U2A. Only here to load file Digi2.bin

Then again put memory U2A on the board.

Preferably before each update, do yourself a copy memory dumps U1A and U2A. Then we can go back in case of problems with the update to the old version.

Twirl, back digiprog. After this step, run digiprog. If everything went well that you will be greeted this image.

The serial number is stored in the file digi1.bin exactly at this point:

Any change in the file, making it not useful after update, blue screen on digiprog 3.

The problem is probably in the checksums of the files after editing change. Maybe someday will a program that will allow changing the serial number in the file update. Then buy only 1 time updates and will be able to change the serial number in the file. Those who sell the updates are, surely such a program.
